Shan Chicken Masala - 100g

Shan Chicken Masala is a 100g spice mix designed to help you prepare rich and aromatic chicken curry. This blend includes a variety of spices such as red chili, salt, turmeric, star aniseed, coriander, cinnamon, cumin, brown cardamom, carom, black pepper, fenugreek seed, bay leaf, clove, green cardamom, ginger, and garlic. The mix also contains maltodextrin, hydrolyzed soy protein, sugar, canola oil, and silicon dioxide as an anticaking agent.

Note: The high salt content is due to the inclusion of salt in the spice mix. It's advisable to adjust the amount of additional salt added during cooking to suit your taste preferences.

Preparation Instructions:

1. Ingredients Needed:
   • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
   • 3 medium onions, finely sliced or 60g fried onions
   • 1½ cups (300g) plain yogurt, whipped
   • 2 tablespoons julienned ginger
   • 1 cup (175 ml) oil or ghee
   • 1 packet of Shan Chicken Masala Mix
   • ½ to 2 cups water (adjust for desired gravy consistency)
2. Cooking Steps:
   • Heat oil or ghee in a pot. Fry the sliced onions until light golden, then remove and crush them.
   • In the same pot, add the chicken pieces, yogurt, and Shan Chicken Masala Mix. Cover and cook on low heat for 20-30 minutes.
   • Add julienned ginger and ½ to 2 cups of water for gravy. Cover and cook on low heat for an additional 5 minutes.
   • Stir in the crushed fried onions. Cover and cook on low heat for another 5 minutes.

This recipe yields a flavorful chicken curry with a rich gravy.

Storage Instructions:

• Store the spice mix in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Once opened, transfer the contents to an airtight container to maintain freshness.
